Blind Date #6 | OY WITH THE TROPES.

We know, but...

Wait for it...

Yes, yes. This book nearly has them all. Forbidden magic. A royal court and social season. A love triangle. Dangerous men. A girl hiding what she really is. At least they didn't try to cram in wolves, vampires, angels, demons, or a rags-to-riches story while they were at it, right?

But here's the thing: that's all just the backdrop.

Because our girl is strategic, determined, and refreshingly unwilling to sit around waiting for one of those dangerous men to solve her problems. She's living on both sides of a deadly divide, possessing the same forbidden magic her powerful family hunts, and when she realizes there are things within her power to change, she gets to work. There are people to protect, secrets to uncover, political games to navigate, betrayals to survive, and yes, plenty of complicated romantic entanglements along the way.

So, while you know the tropes too well,
They remembered to bring a plot. A good one.
